GAMES 12 (11/2/12)
We played at  Lawnton State School today against St Pauls. The grass on the oval was  considerably long and a little damp to start with. Our captain for the day Dan  O’Connor decided that we would bowl first which was a masterstroke as we kept  them to 17 runs for the first 9 overs and they finished with 6/45 overall.  After practicing our bowling and running between wickets at training this week  we could see a great improvement and keenness from the boys. Loki Bradley was  the star with the ball with 3-9 off 3 overs and a runout from with Junior  Prisk 1-3 and Dan O’Connor 1-5. Our batting was a real team effort with every  one scoring and superbly running between wickets and sneaking singles and over  throws at every opportunity. The opposition coach stated that he thought our  teams running between wickets today got us at least 4o extra runs – well done  boys. Some pleasing batting results were from Ethan Gilbert 13 and Travis  Peatey 12 with their top scores for the season so far. End net scores were  Bald Hills Lawnton Liosn 94 vs St Pauls 27. Player of the Match was Travis  Peatey.

GAME 11  (4/2/12)
We ventured over to Nundah today to play Toombul Blue. They  won the toss and put us into bat and we were 5/59 at the change of the first 9  overs and 8/95 at the end. It was evident that we had not played and trained  since 3/12/11 as we were very disjointed in our running between wickets (4 run  outs) and bowling of wides. Our top scorer was Ben O’Connor with 23 followed  by Pranav Prasad with 15 and Jack Fewtrell scoring his highest score so far  with 13. Toombul started off with a bang and had scored 31 runs off the first  4 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. At the end of the fist change of 9 overs we  had held them back to 3/34 and they finished their innings at 9/83. End net  result saw Bald Hills Lawnton Lions 71 vs Toombul Blue 56. Player of the Match  was Loki Bradley.

GAME 10  (28/1/12)
Unfortunately like our first game of the season, the first  for the New Year was also washed out.

 GAME 9 (3/12/11)
This week we were again  up at The Lakes College to play Pine Rivers. Whilst the pitch was a bit uneven  and the field a little longer than the week before we did manage to score 90  runs today before the 8 dismissals. Double figure scores were by Loki Bradley  22, and both Ben & Dan O’Connor scored 14 each. Our fielding and bowling  was quite pleasing today to finish off the first half of the season. Pine  Rivers scored 46 runs and also lost 8 wickets. Of those 8 wickets we bowled 4,  caught 2 and completed 2 runouts. Our bowling stars this week were Junior  Prisk with 2-0 of 2 overs and Bailie Stirling 3-4 off his 2 overs. Net end  scores after taking off wickets was Bald Hills Lawnton Lions 66 vs Pine Rivers  Panthers 22. Player of the Match was Loki Bradley.

Game 8 (26/11/11)
This week we ventured to play Lakes College at North Lakes. We batted first and the O’Connor boys were once again stars with the bat. Ben scored the teams highest score of the season so far - 34 (13 balls) whilst Dan scored 27 as did Loki Bradley. Very pleased to see Junior Prisk and Henry Nysschen running between the wickets and Henry scoring his highest score of 8. A pleasing aspect of the batting was we only got out the once – a runout. This week our bowling accuracy probably wasn’t as good as the week before as we only managed the one wicket, to Junior Prisk who finished with 1-2 off his 3 overs (a great captains bowling effort).Despite this we fielded very well in keeping their runs down to 32 and picking up 4 run outs for good measure. End net scores were 117-17. Player of the Match Dan’Connor.

Game 7 (19/11/11)
The Lions played Bracken Ridge this week and the boys got to play on turf for the first time. Travis Peatey was the captain this week and took a wicket in the opening over of the day to give him 1-1 which set the scene well. Our bowling was very impressive with 9 of the 11 wickets taken during their score of 59 being bowled – sensational accuracy. Ben O’Connor got 4-9, Tommy Herron 3-1 with Bailie Stirling 1-0, Loki Bradley 1-8 and Junior Prisk 1-18. Whilst our fielding has been good our batting has gone from strength to strength as the batters realise they can take the quick singles as well hit the boundaries. We lost only 3 wickets in amassing our highest score yet of 155. One of those wickets was taken by Henry Nysschen (1-18) who showed his great sportsmanship in playing for Bracken Ridge to even the teams up as bit. Our top scorers for the week were Ben O’Connor 33, Dan O’Connor 26, Pranav Prasad 24, Tommy Herron 21, Loki Bradley 18 and Bailie Stirling 13. We were also fortunate enough to welcome Ethan Gilbert to our team and he managed to score a four on the third ball he faced. End scores after taking off the w 3 runs per wicket saw our boys score 146 – 26. Player of the Match was Ben O’Connor this week.

Game 6 (12/11/11)
This week we played our neighbour St Pauls at their school grounds. Our captain for the week Dan O’Connor won the toss and elected to bat first (I think maybe because he was opening this week too). He and Loki Bradley combined for 47 runs from their 12 balls each with Dan getting 18 and Loki 29, including the teams first ever 6 – big hit Loki!!. Our batting was very good with only two dismissals this week from a total score of 115. Other notable scorers were Ben O’Connor who scored 8 boundaries and a single for 33 runs of his allotted 12 balls, Pranav Prasad with 13 and Travis Peatey hitting his first ever four and then backing it up with a second one and getting his top score so far of 10. We thought we did well with the bat but our fielding was absolutely first class and something that was very very pleasing. We kept St Pauls to 47 and took 13 wickets (5 runouts, 4 catches and 4 bowled). Loki Bradley got 2-3, Dan O’Connor 2-6, Ben O’Connor 2-8 Jack Fewtrell 1-1 and Travis Peatey 1-12.  The end result after taking off wickets was a score of 115-8 and a great result for the boys who have been doing a lot of fielding practice these past few weeks. Our player of the match this week was Loki Bradley.

Game 5 (5/11/11)
We played Toombul Blue this week and we thank Travis Peatey for volunteering to play for them as they were 1 player short. We opened the batting with a 4 by Bailie Stirling setting the scene early whilst the other opener Ben O’Connor got top score with 21. Our first 3 batsmen did remarkably well to not get out and give us a good platform in scoring an end score of 66 with Tommy Herron and Dan O’Connor both scoring 18. Our fielding this week was top class which was evident by Toombul Blue finishing with 39 runs. Tommy Herron finished with 2-0 and Loki Bradley 2-1 off their bowling but the 3 catches by Tommy Herron, Dan O’Connor and Pranav Prasad was very pleasing as was our first stumping of the year done by Dan O’Connor. Our Player of the Match this week was Tommy Herron.

Game 4 (29/11/11)
This week we headed over to Sandgate Redcliffe and this was tight game with both teams finishing with net scores of 42. Loki Bradley stared with the bat with 18 runs and both O’Connor boys scored 11 each. Our fielding was very good with 3 runouts executed by Bailie Stirling, Ben O’Connor and Pranav Prasad. The bowling by all the boys was good with Ben O’Connor getting 1-2, Pranav Prasad 1-3, Travis Peatey 1-7, Loki Bradley 1-8 and Thomas Herron 1-9. Our Junior Prisk did a fantastic job in getting his body behind the ball and not giving away 1 bye his 9 over stint as keeper. Special mention to our captain for this week Pranav Prasad who was always encouraging his own players to walk in with the bowlers and clap a successful wicket whilst also applauding the opposition batsmen as they finished batting each time and he also took two catches – a worthy Player of the Match.

Game 3 (22/11/11)
This was the first game for new coaches Craig Peatey and Neil O’Connor. We batted first and finished with a net score of 77 with both openers Ben O’Connor 29 and Loki Bradley 19 scoring well and backed up by Dan O’Connor and our newest player to join us this week Bailie Stirling 20. We then fielded and kept Toombul Red to a net score of 43 with Ben O’Connor staring with the ball with 5-5 with Bailie Stirling getting 3-4. Jack Fewtrell 3-14 and Matthew Edwards 3-16. We also saw a screamer of a catch by Dan O’Connor low done to his right and only centimetres off the ground. A special thanks to Henry Nysschen and Junior Prisk for showing their sportsmanship by playing for Toombul Red who were a little short this week.

Game 2 (15/10/11)
This was the first game for 7 of the 9 boys and after just the one training session we started the season well by having a net score of 64 to Pine Rivers Panthers 20. Ben O’Connor opened and his first 2 balls of the season were 4’s out of his final score of 20. Our other notable scorer was Thomas Herron who scored 20. Our fielding and bowling was pretty good with quite a few runouts effected and Pranav Prasad taking a wicket with his very first ball of the season to with a final tally of 4-5. Junior Prisk took 5-8 with Dan O’Connor 3-7 and Thomas Herron 3-6
